Congressional Farm Bill hearing to be held at ASU | Events
Before Congress begins work on the 2012 Farm Bill, the House Agriculture Committee plans to host four public hearings around the country.
One of those hearings will be held Friday, March 30, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Fowler Center at Arkansas State University, 201 Olympic Dr. in Jonesboro.
Congressman Rick Crawford will host the hearing, which will include House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas and other committee members.
According to a release from Crawford's office, Chairman Lucas says:
“This will be a great opportunity to meet members of the agriculture community in his district, recognize the contributions our farmers make for this nation and around the world, and discuss the challenges our producers continue to face.”
The public is invited to attend the hearing.
Field hearings operate just like Congressional hearings, there will be no open mic and only witnesses and members of the Agriculture Committee will be allowed to speak.
