Woman slapped with felony charge after punching jail matron | Crime
A Cross County woman arrested for public intoxication was slapped with felony charges after investigators say she attacked a jail matron.
On Saturday, July 7, deputies arrested 31-year-old Megan Butler of Wynne on misdemeanor public intoxication and disorderly conduct charges, according to Sheriff J.R. Smith.
While being booked, he said Butler hit a matron at the Cross County Detention Center in the right eye. The injury required the jail employee to see medical attention.
A felony charge of second degree battery upon a correctional officer was added to Butler’s charges.
She is currently free on $5,000 bond.
