Broken windshield lands two behind bars

A traffic stop for a broken windshield landed two men in the Cross County Jail.

According to the sheriff's department, on Monday, March 26, a deputy pulled over a 1982 Honda driven by Thomas Drake, 25, of Forrest City for having a defective windshield.

During a search of the vehicle, investigators say they found a clear plastic bag in the console containing a spoon, syringes and bag of white powder which tested positive for meth.

Drake was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and defective equipment.

A passenger in the car, 29-year-ol Patrick Hopper of Wynne, was arrested for a fugitive bench warrant with Cross County and failure to pay a fine.

Both men are currently free on bond.
