Couple arrested on meth charges | Crime
A Region 8 couple apparently picked the wrong place to go parking.
On Saturday afternoon, Cross County sheriff’s deputy Wes Mason was on patrol at Village Creek State Park when he spotted a car at the end of the park’s main road.
The vehicle was idling and two people were inside.
According to an email from Sheriff J.R. Smith, when Mason approached the couple’s car he could smell a “very strong chemical odor.”
Following further investigation Bobbie Jo Mitleff, 34, and Douglas Bokker, 33, both of Forrest City, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance (meth).
Both are free on $1,500 bond.
