Cross County sex offender alert: Ed Smith | Crime

Ed Smith, 49, has registered as a Level 3 sex offender with the Cross County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release from Sheriff J.R. Smith.

Smith is now living in the 300-block of Lansing in Parkin.

According to the sheriff, Smith was convicted in 1998 of sexual abuse-1st degree. 

He was accused of forcing his way into a woman’s home, threatening her with a knife and forcing her to engage in sexual activity.  His criminal history also includes attempted rape, according to the release.

A Level 3 sex offender is considered a high-risk to re-offend.
