Sheriff: Jail visitor arrested for bringing meth to inmate
A Region 8 man visiting a friend in jail wound up behind bars himself.
Joseph Bailey, 21, of Wynne was arrested Tuesday on charges of failure to pay fine and felony possession of methamphetamine or cocaine.
According to Cross County Sheriff J.R. Smith, Bailey was bringing items to another inmate at the Cross County Detention Center when he was arrested on an outstanding warrant for the unpaid fines.
While searching Bailey, Smith says a deputy found a container of meth.
Bailey is free on $2,500 bond.
