The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will offer a free training session Saturday, September 8, for anyone interested in nominating a property to the National Register of Historic Places, the country’s official list of historically significant sites, AHPP Director Frances McSwain announced today.

Sheena Rogers, 24, of Forrest City.  Charges:  Hold for outside agency, Interference with a law enforcement officer.  Booking date:  August 9, 2:54 p.m.  Release date:  August 9, 6:49 p.m.

Missing man found safe, selling produce

Cross County Sheriff J.R. Smith says a man reported missing on Thursday has been found safe and well.

Maxie O. Lawson was found in Marshall County, Mississippi, apparently selling produce.

According to Sheriff Smith, Lawson had traveled to Alabama to buy produce and had been selling it along the way.  Attempts to contact him by cell phone went unanswered.

Sheriff Smith thanks the Marshall County Sheriff's Department in helping locate Lawson.

The Cross County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in finding a missing man.

Maxie O. Lawson was last seen Tuesday, August 7, driving a white one-ton handicapped van with a raised roof.

According to Sheriff J.R. Smith, Lawson often travels to Birmingham, Alabama, to buy produce.  If so, he may be traveling on Highway 78 out of Memphis.  Lawson also makes trips to Millington, Tennessee, Bald Knob and Searcy on Highways 64 and 167.

Lawson’s cell phone is on; but, there has been no answer.

Poinsett Masonic Lodge #184 in Harrisburg will host a spaghetti supper fundraiser for Bridge of Hope Children’s Home on Friday, August 24, at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $8.

The Bridge of Hope Children's Home, located in Vanndale, provides a safe home for children, ages 6 to 12, who are the victims of abuse and/or neglect.
