Learn about life on the river at upcoming event in Parkin
The St. Francis River has been an important part of the history at Parkin Archeological State Park and eastern Arkansas.
On Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the public is invited to the park’s first St. Francis River Day event.
From small canoes to large steamboats, the river has long been used as a means of transportation. A replica 40 foot keelboat will be on hand to show how many of the early settlers first came to the region.
